As a totally independent opticians we are not restricted in the spectacte frames and lenses which we supply. Razia, our Principal Dispensing Optician is able to source spectacle frames and lenses from manufacturers around the world. This freedom of lens and frame selection, plus our expertise as opticians, enables us to provide a vastly wider choice than the limited ranges offered by multiple store opticians and optical supermarkets.
Varifocals & Thin Lenses
Recent years have seen huge developments in spectacle lens technology. We now have access to many new optically superior lenses in varifocals and single vision form. These provide better, clearer vision than the old standard and CR39 plastic and glass lenses.
We carry a comprehensive range of frames and feature major names including:
Trotters Opticians are an agent for Seiko in Edinburgh. The Seiko name is recognised as the byword in spectacle quality. Seiko frames are 100% titanium, making them extremely strong, light and allergy free. Seiko lenses have several patented features, including reduced distortion at the extremities of the lenses. These lenses are made from the most advanced materials with the highest refractive index, enabling them to be thin and very light.
Work Station / Computer Use Glasses
We supply enhanced reading lenses for computer use and many other activities. These are ideal for those people who must be able to read but also see clearly up to arms reach.
These can be supplied containing two prescriptions to view either the computer screen or read documents, or alternatively as varifocals.
We offer a range of contact lenses, including dailies and varifocals. Daily disposable lenses are ideal for sports, social occasions and part time wearers and an easy introduction to new wearers.
New Generation Contact Lenses
Contact lens technology keeps changing and we now offer several types of lenses in the new generation of silicone hydrogel materials. These lenses have five times the oxygen transmissibility of other soft contact lenses making them ideal for anyone who has had problems tolerating lenses in the past or who wears lenses for long hours.
This protects your eyes from the effects of oxygen deficiency, end-of-day discomfort, irritation dryness and redness. Please see Contact Lenses page for more details.
